NA/NB MX-5 Miata Skid Plate & Engine Mount Spacer Group Buy
Why would you need a skid plate on your Miata?
When the Miata was released in the late 80’s, Mazda didn’t anticipate all the cool modifications us Miata owners were going to do decades later. Including lowering our cars and making them look cool and handle on rails. Any lowered Miata is at some risk of scraping the ground by hitting pot holes or speed bumps the wrong way. Your engine oil pan is the riskiest part to scrape because cracking your oil pan will result in lots of headache. You will need a tow back home, you will need to source a used oil pan, and you will have to drop the subframe to install the oil pan which is a lot of work!
The R Theory Motorsports Miata Skid Plate is inexpensive insurance that will save you the fear of scraping your oil pan, in addition to the countless hours waiting for a tow and installing a new oil pan.
what is a skid plate & engine Mount spacer
A skid plate is a thick metal plate, usually made out of steel, that protects vital components from being hit by objects on the road. R Theory skid plates are made out of stainless steel to ensure they are strong and corrosion resistant.
Engine Mount Spacers are thick plates that go under your engine mounts. This raises your engine by a few millimeters which provides additional ground clearance and reduce the chances of anything hitting your engine’s oil pan.
