The ND MX-5 Lightweight Battery Tie Down replaces the factory hold-down with a CNC-milled 6061 aluminum piece that is lighter, strong, and a clean upgrade for your engine bay. It’s available in red, black, or our signature blue, with the R Theory Motorsports logo laser etched into the part.

Fitment
Fits ND MX-5 / Miata [model years, e.g. 2016+]. Designed for the stock-size battery. Fitment with smaller lightweight batteries may vary, so please check your battery’s dimensions before ordering.
Installation
Partially loosen the two factory nuts, unhook the stock tie down, and set the new tie down over the original J-hook studs. Secure it with the included M6 flange nuts and tighten to 5.0 to 6.9 Nm or 45 to 61 in-lbf (not to be confused with ft-lbs).
Complete the set
Pair it with our matching oil cap, water pump pulley, and dipstick handle for a coordinated engine bay.
