The PQR was originally developed by R Theory Motorsports for track cars and show vehicles. Drivers loved how fast and reliable it made plate swapping. The mechanism is identical to our Billet Aluminum version: stainless steel dowel pins slide into precision grooves, neodymium magnets bonded for a rattle-free hold, and stainless steel fasteners throughout. The one difference you'll notice is feel. The aluminum version clicks more crisply when it locks in, while the plastic engages with a quieter, more muted sound. Whether you're running gravel roads or rutted singletrack on the way to the trailhead, it holds just as securely through the rough stuff and highway speeds alike.
Aluminum and plastic PQR pieces are fully cross-compatible, so you can mix and match bases and attachments as your kit grows.
Two Options, Same Reliable System

How It Works
Mount a base on your vehicle and another on your rack. Bolt the plate attachment to your license plate. When it's time to load up and head out, pop the plate off your bumper and onto the rack. Four stainless steel pins and four neodymium magnets lock it into place instantly. When you're back from the ride, it comes off just as fast.
