A More Accessible Option, Zero Compromise on Function
The Plastic PQR delivers the same quick-release experience as our best-selling Billet Aluminum version, at a lower price point. The body is 3D printed in-house using carbon fiber reinforced polymer, a stiff, lightweight material chosen for its durability across four seasons of daily use. We press-fit stainless steel dowel pins for precise, repeatable engagement, bond powerful neodymium magnets for a rattle-free hold, and include stainless steel fasteners throughout. Every material decision was made with long-term reliability in mind.
How It Compares to the Aluminum Version
The locking mechanism is identical between both versions, the same stainless steel pin-and-groove design that keeps your plate secure through high-speed runs and car washes. Where they differ is in finish and feel. The aluminum version carries a satin hard anodized finish that looks at home on a built car, while the plastic version has a clean matte finish that sits quietly on the bumper without drawing attention to itself. On the engagement side, billet aluminum produces a satisfying click when the assembly locks in, while the plastic version has a more muted sound. The holding strength is the same either way, the pin-and-groove geometry does not change between materials.
Mix and Match, Full Cross-Compatibility
Aluminum and plastic PQR pieces are fully cross-compatible. If you want to add more brackets down the road to swap between plates or cars, you can order either material and it will work with what you already have.
Fitment Notes
Designed to fit plates from different regions with two bolt spacing options:
- Narrow: 7 inches / 177.8mm (USA, Canada, etc.)
- Wide: 8.268 inches / 210mm (Japan, Taiwan, etc.)
Compatible with most European license plate holder frames, just verify your vehicle accepts our bolt patterns.
